We were approached by R.R. Donnelly to create and launch their first B2C product aimed at capturing a share of the photobook market that was being sunset by Apple Photos.

Project Objectives

  • Leading a team of designers & engineers, create a product strategy for a new photo book creation tool from scratch


  • Shape the offering roadmap with customers using lean methods & experimentation


  • Deliver the digital product with agile methods while leveraging the latest tech in collaboration with Apple


  • Become a trusted partner for Apple in order to be a recommended Photos Extension at their World-Wide Developer Conference (WWDC)

Engagement Details

My Role - Business Design Lead

Lead a team of designers and engineers, in collaboration with the client team & Apple leadership, to drive the creation of the product while presenting to senior leadership (CEO of R.R.D.) at important milestones during product development.


  • Lead Product Strategy (Customer Research, Experimentation, Product Design, Financial Modeling, Pricing, Competitive Landscape)


  • Lead Product Development (Story mapping, Agile SCRUM, Design & Development Sprints, Backlog Creation & Prioritization, QA)
